quick post to help you short cut a bit of searching and just make it work:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install kdenlive
Basically the fix is there to keep up with a new version of melt, but the Ubuntu repo doesn’t have it yet, so run above to use Sunab’s alternative repository.
